We have shared so many I Spy games – I was shocked when a reader pointed out there wasn’t a Thanksgiving I Spy game…until now! I Spy games are a natural fit for Thanksgiving. Helping in the kitchen is one of the most fun things about Thanksgiving prep…but there are times when several pots are boiling and you need an activity to keep the kiddos busy!

I Spy printables are just like busy bags. Print ’em out and you have an activity guaranteed to give you a few uninterrupted minutes! We laminate them, too, and re-use them that way.
How to play Thanksgiving I Spy
- Count the objects listed at the bottom
- Play along with your child – for example, make up your own challenges, such as “let’s see how many turkeys are next to pumpkins” or “let’s count all the red objects”
- Add a sensory element to the counting. We used popcorn kernels (because I thought they were kind of Thanksgiving-y) and placed a popcorn kernel on each object as we were looking for it. So I gave my son a little bowl of kernels, and he would put one kernel on every turkey he saw, and then count how many kernels he had.
