Orange paper plates make simple yet awesome pumpkin faces. (And they save me from having to cut out lots of large orange circles!). We took our pumpkin faces and used them to make a super-sized memory game this Halloween!

Make the Pumpkin Memory Game
- orange paper plates
- black and brown construction paper
Cut: (Either you or your child, depending on age and ability and interest!)
Using the black paper, cut out shapes for the pumpkin faces. You need to make sure that every pumpkin face you make has a matching pumpkin face. Make sure to make 2 copies of each shape (or 4 for the eye shapes).
Using brown (or green) paper, cut out a stem for each pumpkin. We did 12 pumpkins – how many you make depends on how challenging you want the game to be.
Create: Once the shapes are cut, tape or glue them on (or the kids can). Just be sure every face has a matching face.
Play: Place the pumpkins face down in a grid (ours were 3 rows of 4 pumpkins). The first player flips over 2 pumpkins – if the faces match, they get to take the pumpkins. If not, the pumpkins are placed face down. The next player does the same, until all the matches are found.
If you want a smaller (and portable!) memory game, we’ve got another Halloween memory game here!
