Frozen Hot Chocolate is one of our favorite summer treats! It’s easy to make, refreshing, and delicious. Plus the kids can make most of it on their own, which makes it a fun activity as well!
- 4 ounces dark chocolate
- 3 cups ice
- 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 2 1/2 cups 2% or whole milk
- optional: marshmallows
Put the ice into your blender, and blend. Add chocolate, cocoa, sugar, and pulse to blend. Add in the milk, and blend. Put into cups and add some marshmallows (they won’t melt obviously, but they sure taste good!).
My kids love gathering the ingredients (especially the ice cubes!). My blender will only work when all the parts are locked, and I let them press the on button once we’ve added the ingredients – but you know your set up, and your kids, best.
This recipe is pretty forgiving – we’ve made it with regular hot chocolate mix, and we play with the amounts of all the ingredients, depending on what we have on hand (and this is slightly different from our other frozen hot chocolate post!).
