As summer fades into the start of the school year, parents begin thinking of preparing their children for the year ahead. Unfortunately, for many parents that means a struggle to buy basic supplies and safe afterschool care. The author of the blog Crayon Freckles is tackling this problem head on.
Andie worked the Boys and Girls Club and organized 40 bloggers to create an ebook, “Boredom Busters.” For a $10 donation to the Boys and Girls Club, you will receive an ebook chock full of fun activities for kids. The money will be used to purchase supplies for children in need (fill their backpacks) and to provide afterschool care.
I bought the book, and I can assure you that these activities are sure to engage your kids. They are ideas that capture a child’s imagination, such as painting with M&M’s, practicing phonics with a box monster, and a printable playground scavenger hunt.
I am honored to have been asked to contribute to the book, so if you buy a copy, you may recognize a couple of the posts. You can click on the donate button at the top of this post, or on the button on my sidebar.
