This color match target practice game was a hit! Kids always enjoy blowing pompoms, and this added a target practice element as well – which was great for my kindergartner! This game is one of our “when will this winter end” indoor game inspirations, and I know we’ll be breaking it out again!
Setting Up The Color Match Game
- Colored paper
- Pompoms in a variety of colors
Set up for this game couldn’t be easier. I folded construction paper in half and propped it against the wall. Then I emptied a bag of colored pompoms in different sizes onto the floor and called the kids in!
I told them we had to match the pompoms to the color paper…and that they could only move the pompoms by blowing! They loved crawling around, blowing the pompoms, seeing how far they’d go, and how softly they could blow and still move the pompoms. They also liked missing the target color and trying to get the pompoms back on track.
Having so many colored pompoms out at once was a bit overwhelming, so after we played with them for a bit, I put away a bunch of the pompoms, to make it a little easier for the kids to blow their pompoms to the matching color.
